Artist's Talk: From Here to There

Sunday, April 7 | 2:30 pm
East Building, Museum Auditorium
Free; ticket from Box Office required
Reserve online or call (919) 715-5923.

Alec Soth discusses photographs taken during his extensive travels along the Mississippi River and New York’s famed Niagara Falls. Soth, fascinated by the narrative potential of photography, takes his audience on a virtual tour through the “visual stories” of people and places missed by most of us. Thought-provoking—and sometimes jarring—images provide vivid backdrops as Soth chronicles his conversations with honeymooners, prostitutes and their clientele, fervent Christians, and young mothers. The exhibition Wanderlust: Photographs by Alec Soth is on view in the Julian T. Baker Jr. Gallery through June 30.

Sponsored in part by the NCMA Friends of Photography
