Pat (Cooper), freshly sprung from a mental institution after stalking his ex-wife, moves in with his anxious parents and connects with a beautiful, cranky neighbor. The four lead actors were all nominated for Oscars; Lawrence won for her fierce widow with a cockamamie ballroom dancing dream.
