Teacher In-services

Plan a professional development day at the North Carolina Museum of Art for a group of 10 to 20 teachers. Choose from three topics: Reading Art, which providesreading credit; Art as a Primary Source, a social studies approach; and Art and Nature, an art and science-oriented program. .5 CEU provided. Good Company

The Collection Connection Learning Center located on the Entrance-level of the Museum is temporarily closed. The center will reopen with a new installation on the Main-level in early summer. The Collection Connection is made possible by Progress Energy.

Library

The Art Reference Library of the North Carolina Museum of Art is a non-circulating research collection open to the public. The Library's emphasis is on Western European and American art, in support of the Museum's primary collections. The Library holds approximately 37,000 volumes, including books, auction and exhibition catalogs, and nearly 100 current periodical subscriptions.

Funding & Partnership Opportunities

Bus Scholarships
Love to bring your class to the Museum but lack the funds for busses?  The NCMA has a limited number of bus scholarships available to help your school defray the costs of a museum field trip. Call (919) 664-6820 for details.

Support for the Bus Scholarship Fund is provided by Legacy Custom Homes and Genworth Financial.

Catawba Valley Endowment
A limited number of scholarships are available on a first-come basis for teachers in Alexander, Iredell, Caldwell, Burke, and Catawba counties. Scholarships may be used for workshops, student projects, art supplies, and in-bound trips to the NCMA. Funds are also available to pay substitutes for teachers wishing to enroll in a workshop.
