Appetite for Art dinner tours

Every Friday, 6 p.m.

The theme for Appetite for Art from October through January is Flavors of France. Enjoy a French-themed tour of the Museum’s collection of French paintings and sculpture and dinner in Blue Ridge, the Museum Restaurant. (Flavors of France features a tour of the Museum’s permanent collection. It does not include a tour of Monet in Normandy.)

Tour, free. Fixed price menu, $31.50. Includes:

  • Leek and Potato Bisque with Sorrel Butter
  • Glass of Domaine Machard de Gramont Bourgogne Blanc
  • Rosemary Seared Pork Chop with Dijon Port Reduction and Almond Pesto Haricots Vert
  • Glass of Domaine Machard de Gramont Bourgogne Rouge
  • French Chocolate and Praline Mousse with Java Chantilly and Parisian Pistachio and Strawberry Macaroons

Appetite for Art dinner reservations are strongly recommended. The tour begins at 6 p.m., so dinner reservations should be made for 6:30, 6:45 or 7:00 p.m. Please call (919) 664-6838 and specify Appetite for Art to the person taking your reservation. The fixed price for the full Appetite for Art menu is $31.50, although items may be ordered a la carte at prices listed on the menu if available. Item availability and space permitting, walk-in guests are welcome.

Contemporaries “Au Revoir Monet” reception

EVENT SOLD OUT! Tickets will NOT be available at the door.

Join the Museum's 20- to 40-something group, the Contemporaries, for an evening of special music, food, drinks, and farewell to Monet in Normandy. Curator David Steel will provide remarks on the exhibition.

Monet’s Pond

During Monet in Normandy the Museum pond will be temporarily transformed into a contemporary response to Monet's water lily garden. Professor Will Hooker of the N.C. State University Horticulture Department and his students will create a pattern in the water, not with plants, but with gazing balls.
