Family gallery guide
A free, 10-page Temples and Tombs family gallery guide is available to engage younger visitors and their families in Egyptian art. The guide compares ancient Egyptian objects with modern-day equivalents, and fosters a better understanding of the works on view.
The guide is available at the exhibition entrance.
Progress Energy Learning Center
During Temples and Tombs a new activity for adults and children, called "In Good Company‚" invites you to make connections between images. You decide which images make "good company" based on the subject, the form, the color, or any other common theme you discover.
Finding similarities is also the focus of several activities designed just for kids. Children can sort groups of toys according to their ideas of what goes together, create a paper cube exhibition, invent a story based on a personal selection of picture cards or arrange a stack of oversized museum picture blocks.
A simple pocket guide to approaching art museums will be available. The take-home guide allows you to extend your skills of associating works of art to exhibitions wherever you encounter them.
