
Student group tours
Reservations are required for docent-led group tours of Temples and Tombs and will be accepted beginning Feburary 15, 2007. Tour slots are expected to fill quickly.
Docent-led tours are offered for students in grades 3 and up. Tours require a minimum of 10 participants.

School group tour dates and times
School group tours are offered April 24 through June 22.
School group tour reservations can be made for 9:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m., Tuesdays thru Fridays.
School group tours are limited to 60 people per time slot.
For educators
Teacher workshops
Partial credit of .25 CEU will be awarded per session. Teachers attending all four workshops will be eligible for 1 CEU credit (10 hours).
Workshop Follow-up: Teachers who participate in the workshop series will submit a proposal for a programming option for the Museum's Spring Park Festival celebrating Temples and Tombs. This proposal should be based on a classroom application of concepts explored in workshops. Examples include running a workshop based on a classroom activity that uses students as peer-instructors, creating a performance, or participating in park storytelling sessions.

Egypt Through the Eyes of Ancient Artists
Saturday, February 24, 9:30 a.m. until noon Fees: $18 per workshop ($16 for Educator Members)- Learn more about the culture and beliefs of ancient Egypt through an exploration of art in the Museum's collection and viewing images from the upcoming exhibition Temples and Tombs: Treasures of Egyptian Art from The British Museum with exhibition co-coordinator Caroline M. Rocheleau.

Art and the Natural World
Saturday, March 17, 9:30 a.m. until noon Fees: $18 per workshop ($16 for Educator Members)- Investigate artistic attitudes and beliefs about the natural world. How can ancient Egyptian art be explored through a range of topics that includes the roles of the Nile River, life cycles, natural resources, and artists' materials? How do similar issues operate in the Museum's other galleries and our Museum Park?

Teaching Ancient History through Storytelling
Saturday, March 24, 9:30 a.m. until noon Fees: $18 per workshop ($16 for Educator Members)- Use storytelling strategies to make ancient history, culture, and faith traditions come alive for students, and get a backstage pass to understanding the gods, goddesses, and heroes that populate ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian art in the NCMA galleries.
