CONSTRUCTION UPDATES

The North Carolina Museum of Art is expanding! Please note: some galleries may be partially or completely off view for renovations. For information to help you plan your visit to the Museum, click here.

ADMISSION

Admission is free to the Museum and the permanent collection. There is a charge for special exhibitions and some programs, such as concerts, films, classes, and performances. For more information, call the Musuem Box Office at (919) 715-5923.

ACCESSIBILITY

The North Carolina Museum of Art is predominantly accessible to all visitors; however visitors with disabilities should review the Accessibility page to determine if special considerations will need to be made for their visit.

DAILY ACTIVITIES

Public Tours: Permanent Collection
Free guided, walk-in tours: Tuesday–Sunday, 1:30 p.m.
Meet in the Main Entrance Lobby. Daily public tours do not include ticketed exhibitions.

Acoustiguide Audio Tour: Highlights of the Permanent Collection
Presented by Verizon and Verizon Wireless

Cost: $3 general public, Free for Members

Collection Connection Learning Center
The Collection Connection Learning Center located on the Entrance-level of the Museum is temporarily closed. The center will reopen with a new installation on the Main-level in early summer. The Collection Connection is made possible by Progress Energy.

Video Theater
The Video Theater has closed to make room for expanded programming space. The design model of the Museum's new gallery building is on view on the Entrance-level.

GROUP TOURS

Guided tours for groups are offered Tuesday–Friday on the hour from 10 a.m. –2 p.m with a reservation. Reservations for groups of 10 or more and accommodations for students with special needs are available and must be made at least three weeks in advance. Reservations for self-guided school group visits must be made at least 10 days in advance. Classroom materials for previsit lessons may be reserved at the same time. TICKETS

The Museum Box Office is located at the front entance of the Museum and is open during regular Museum hours. For events taking place after regular hours, the Museum Box Office opens two hours before the start of outdoor events and one hour prior to the start of indoor events.

The Museum Box Office accepts cash, personal checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

Tickets may be purchased in person at the Museum Box Office or by calling (919) 715-5923.

THE MUSEUM STORE

The Museum Store sells books, posters, jewelry and an extensive selection of art-related merchandise, plus a changing inventory of seasonal gifts and items related to Museum exhibitions. BLUE RIDGE, THE MUSEUM RESTAURANT

Overlooking mammoth sculptures on lushly pastoral grounds, Blue Ridge, the Museum Restaurant, offers diners both great visual arts and great culinary art. Eclectic fare ranges from salads, sandwiches and entrees at lunch to sumptuous weekend brunches. From savory soups to sweet desserts, we create a masterpiece of a meal!
