If you enjoy watching and talking about films, join us for a virtual meeting of the NCMA Film Club! To celebrate Women’s History Month, we are featuring the documentary !Women Art Revolution by Lynn Hershman Leeson, which explores the emergence of the feminist art movement of the 1960s and 1970s.
Our special guest moderator for the discussion is Kimberly Kay Lamm, associate professor in the Program of Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies at Duke University, whose scholarship includes contemporary feminist art and feminist theory.

Through intimate conversations and archival footage of visionary artists, historians, curators, and critics, this documentary highlights the brave women who broke down barriers and helped bring to life the feminist art movement. The film features groundbreaking artists such as the Guerrilla Girls, Judy Chicago, Marina Abramovic, Yoko Ono, and Cindy Sherman.

Two days before the film club discussion, you will receive an email with a private link to watch the feature film. More details on how to watch the film will be included in the registration confirmation email along with the Zoom link to join the discussion. You will also be sent a reminder email with the Zoom meeting info one hour before.
