With gallery tours, professional development workshops, and online resources, teachers and their students can explore and enjoy the Museum, both in the galleries and in the classroom. The NCMA offers a variety of programs and resources, onsite and statewide, to help you teach in and through the arts. Education and school programs are sponsored, in part, by Wells Fargo Foundation, North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation, and John William Pope Foundation.

Explore works of art that are relevant across subjects and grade levels. Use lesson plans designed by teachers to easily integrate art into your curriculum. Learn through rich multimedia resources such as video interviews with artists or quick tips to spark ideas. Discover learning opportunities at the NCMA.
VisitSpend time in the galleries exploring how art connects to your teaching practice. Connect with other educators, learn new strategies, and develop your creative capacities. Saturday workshops are offered during the school year, and two-day workshops run during weekdays in the summer.

More InfoEducator Expos feature immersive learning experiences led by contemporary artists, educators, and designers in the Museum’s studios, galleries, and special exhibition spaces. We welcome educators of all levels and disciplines as well as teaching artists and others interested in learning through the arts at this annual celebratory event.
More InfoFellowships are awarded annually to pairs of North Carolina educators interested in refining their practice in art integration strategies and collaboration. Professional development support and stipends are provided.
